Demo at One Reads Way is nearly finished. What’s left is a shell, ready to be transformed into The Journey’s next permanent location. If things continue on pace, construction could begin as early as this fall.
That progress is the visible side of BEYOND, the church-wide vision initiative The Journey launched in early 2026 to invest in formation, compassion, and expansion across Journey City.
But alongside the physical progress at One Reads Way, there’s another story unfolding: how our church has responded with generosity. Giving toward BEYOND is up 43% over last year. It isn’t concentrated among a few large gifts — it’s coming from people across all three Journey locations.
It’s generosity from both new and longtime Journeyers. It’s young adults and retirees. It’s been single moms, construction workers, executives, and families, each giving from what they can for the sake of the circle. Together, our church is now tracking toward $15.7 million of its $18 million two-year goal.
Pastor Mark shared an update on this progress recently during a weekend message, including why the moment matters beyond the building itself.
During Rise Summer Camp and Week of Prayer this summer, the church encountered some of the greatest needs it has seen up close — people who had given up hope, students meeting Jesus for the first time, people desperate for healing.
That’s the deeper purpose behind BEYOND: creating room, through formation, compassion, and expansion, for God to work in lives like theirs.
We’re still moving at the speed of your generosity, so it’s a great time to give if you’ve made a BEYOND commitment but not yet given.
For those who haven’t made a specific commitment, we also invite you to join in on what God is doing through BEYOND.
Every gift given through March 2028 goes directly toward BEYOND’s vision. If you’d like to be part of what’s next, you can give at https://yourjourney.tv/give.
